Late 2020 before Arcane was even live, we began talks with a Mill to create a base with our needs in mind. Just some afterthoughts - I don't know the truth behind it but I've been told adding a few tablespoons of vinegar to the mix will help with colorfastness (fading/bleeding) We do heat set our colourways and allow to cool in a dye bath before rinsing clear so bleeding shouldn't occur, but some scented detergents can begin pulling dye out of the yarn so mild is key! also hot water is bad! Cold, Cool, Room Temp. Don't wring it out! Roll the item up in a couple of bath towels to soak up some of the water and then lay flat to dry! Hand wash in the sink, pull the plug and gently squeeze the excess water out of the item. Better safe then sorry! then lay your items out to air dry. Although all of our yarns are Superwash its best to be gentle. Be careful if you use a wool wash because they have a tendency to make yarns bleed. So its time to wash your wool! Well then here's a few things you should know!Ī good rule of thumb for all hand dyed yarns is to hand wash your items in COLD water with a wool wash or a gentle detergent such as Dawn dish soap.
